Petra's Tech Shop Store Policies


 

Sales Policy Agreement:

Once an order has been placed and an order number assigned, the customer (you) is bound to the terms and conditions as indicated on this website.  By placing an order, you have agreed upon the terms of sale, total dollar amount of the order (shipping and tax included, where applicable), and have authorized Petra's Tech Shop to obtain payment in full through the payment method specified at the time of purchase.

Payment Methods & Placing Your Order:

We currently accept payment via. credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover), PayPal, and money order; however, other methods of payment can be arranged, on occasion, provided that you contact us before you place your order.

Money Orders:  If you select 'Money Order' as your means of payment during the checkout process, please insure that payment is received by us within 14 days of the original order date.  Payment must be received within 14 days or your order will be cancelled!  You may experience a delay in processing when paying by Money Order as your order will not be packed until payment is received.  Also, please remember to write your order number on your Money Order!

Credit Card Orders:  The billing address of all credit card orders will be verified through the electronic AVS (Address Verification System).  As a result, it is imperative that you provide accurate billing address information during checkout.  Any order for which the provided address information does not match what is available through the electronic AVS will be delayed until the conflict is resolved. It should be noted that we will only ship to verifiable addresses so if you intend to have your order shipped to a location other than the billing address for your credit card, then please make sure that the desired shipping address is on file with your credit card company before placing your order.  The credit card provided during order checkout will be charged for your purchase once the order has been packed and is ready to ship.

We prefer that all orders be placed through the Petra's Tech Shop website; however, we do accept telephone orders placed during our normal business hours (please see our contact us page for telephone contact information and store hours).  If you are a reseller who is interested in purchasing from us, drop us a line and we'll contact you with pricing information and payment options.

Shipping Details:

One of our overall goals at Petra's Tech Shop is to provide the computer enthusiast community with unparalleled, honest service.  As such, any order placed before 2:30PM (Pacific Time) should ship out the same day--provided, of course, that all items ordered are available and there are no payment processing issues.

Our shipping charges are based on total order weight and distance from our warehouse to the order's destination (plus a minimal fee to help cover our various processing expenses).  Although, we have taken extra measures to make basic expedited shipping options, such as UPS 3 Day, much more affordable so that customers located on the East coast aren't limited to Ground as their only reasonable shipping option.

Currently, PTS ships to all 50 states within the US, including US territories (i.e. Puerto Rico, Guam, the US Virgin Islands, etc.).  All shipments to P.O. Boxes and/or US territories must be shipped via. the USPS--choosing any other shipment method will result in a delay of your order so that we may confirm any corrected shipping charges with you (if applicable).  International customers:  please contact us by phone or e-mail for ordering information as, currently, our online checkout system is not well equipped to handle international orders.  All customers have the option to have their order delivered to an address other than their provided billing address; however, as noted above, we will only ship orders to verifiable addresses.  If the use of an alternate shipping address is desired, simply input the appropriate information during the checkout process and make sure that the alternate address is on file with your credit card company (either as an alternate shipping address for the account or entered into the account notes, which are accessible to the credit card provider's service staff).  Orders with differing billing and shipping addresses will experience a processing delay as we attempt to verify all of the information provided.  Once verification has been completed, future orders placed using the same information should be processed normally, without any additional verification delays.

Petra's Tech Shop shall not be held liable for packages lost due to incorrect/inaccurate address information.  If a package is returned to PTS as a result of incorrect/inaccurate address information, you (the customer) will be notified and any subsequent reships will be carried out at your expense.  If a reship is not desired, then the order can be cancelled.  At which point, you will be refunded the original order total minus a 15% restocking fee (taken from the total cost of items ordered) and any applicable shipping charges.

If you are located in the San Jose, CA area and would like to pick up your order rather than having it shipped, simply place your order online, select "Local Pick-Up" as the shipping method, and give us a call before you plan on picking up your order (just so that we can make sure everything is in stock and ready).  Almost all orders can be picked up the same day that they are placed, though it is best to check with us ahead of time (as a rule, we try to keep all items in our warehouse and ready to pick up/ship at all times; however, on occasion, an item may be unexpectedly out of stock or need to be picked up from/delivered by one of our local vendors).

*Note:  USPS First Class Mail is reserved for packaged orders weighing less than 13 oz.  Any packaged order exceeding 13 oz. using this shipment method will automatically default to the highest USPS Priority rate.  Consequently, we urge you to choose an appropriate shipping method before finalizing your order.

Return Information:

Petra's Tech Shop warrants all products to be free of defects for a period of 30 days from the original date of purchase.  Any defects which arise after 30 days have passed should be addressed to the appropriate product manufacturer and/or regional distributor handling warranty service.  All returns must be approved by us before they are sent and every return must be accompanied by an RMA number (preferably, written clearly on the outside of the package).  Please see our contact us page to initiate the RMA process.  Any unauthorized returns will be rejected and shipped back to their respective sender.  Any modification of products purchased will automatically void the PTS 30 day warranty and, as a result, the modified item(s) will become non-returnable, for any reason.  PTS is not responsible for replacing and/or issuing refunds for products which have been damaged by the user nor is PTS liable for any damage incurred through the use/misuse of products purchased.  Additionally, cut lengths of tubing and clearance items are non-returnable.

Unopened/Non-Defective Items:  Any non-defective item which is in unopened condition may be returned with no penalty if returned no more than 7 days from the date of delivery.  Any unopened/non-defective product returned after the 7 day "inspection" period will be charged a 15% restocking fee.  It should also be noted that you (the customer) are solely responsible for any and all return shipping costs.

Defective Items:  Defective items may be returned for direct replacement within 30 days of the original purchase date.  If a direct replacement is not available, then we will contact you to determine an appropriate replacement item of equal or greater value.  Again, you (the customer) are responsible for any and all return shipping costs; however, your replacement item will be shipped free of charge.

Incorrect Order Shipments:  If it turns out that your order was packed incorrectly (i.e. you received something other than what you ordered or an item is missing from your package), then please contact us within 7 days from the date of delivery.  Incorrect items are to be returned to Petra's Tech Shop in unopened/unused condition and, once received, the correct item(s) will be shipped free of charge.  If the incorrect item(s) are returned to us using either UPS Ground or USPS Priority Mail and your return shipping cost is clearly indicated, we will issue reimbursement to you for the indicated amount.

Order Alterations and Cancellations:

While we cannot guarantee that all requests for order modification or cancellation will be received before your order ships, we will make every effort to make sure your requests are addressed in a timely manner.  The best way to make sure your that your request is received in time would be to give us a call during our normal office hours (remember, we are not responsible for any requests which go unfulfilled because they were received after your order was packaged and shipped!).  Once your order is packaged and ready for courier pick up, we will be unable to make modifications to your order!

Privacy Information:

Our store operates through the Yahoo! Stores system and, as a result, you can be assured that any information sent to us through the checkout process will be handled securely and responsibly.  Any sensitive information will be stored on Yahoo's secure servers for a period of 30 days and then automatically purged.  None of the information provided to Petra's Tech Shop will ever be sold or distributed by us to any third party for promotional, advertising, or any other purposes not directly related to the immediate fulfillment of your order.

This site is hosted by Yahoo! Store.  Yahoo! hosts the store pages, ordering system, and order data.  Yahoo! automatically collects order information but may only use this information in the aggregate.  If you accessed this store through Yahoo! The Fine Print:

Petra's Tech Shop reserves the right to cancel any order due to typographical errors.  We try to provide detailed, up-to-date information on all of our products; however, we cannot guarantee that all pictures/product specifications will be 100% accurate.  As such, make sure that you do your own, independent research before placing an order.  All prices, product availability, and policies are subject to change without notice.  We are not responsible for the killer monkeys which are currently lurking in your closet...
